Orvy Community Guidelines

Effective Date: September 3, 2026

Welcome to the Orvy community. These Community Guidelines (“Guidelines”) exist to keep Orvy a safe, respectful, and lawful space to share Thoughts and start conversations. By using Orvy, you agree to follow these Guidelines in addition to our Terms of Service.

If you violate these Guidelines, we may remove content, restrict features, or temporarily or permanently suspend your account, depending on the nature and severity of the violation, and may report the matter to relevant authorities where required or appropriate.

18+ Only

Orvy is strictly limited to users 18 years of age and older. You must confirm your date of birth before you can use the app. If we cannot reasonably confirm that you are at least 18, we will restrict, suspend, or close your account. See our Child Safety Standards for how we handle any content or conduct involving minors.

How We Review Content

Every Thought is automatically screened before it's published. Thoughts that contain the following are not published, and you'll be asked to revise and resubmit — this does not use up your daily publish attempt:

• Vulgar or sexually explicit content;
• Hate speech or abusive language;
• Harassment;
• Illegal or high-risk content;
• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or other child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) content;
• Threats of self-harm or violence.

Spam or scam content is addressed through user reports and manual review rather than automatic screening.

Content involving CSAE/CSAM, violence threats, or self-harm risk is treated as high severity and escalated for expedited review — see our Child Safety Standards.

Respect and Consent

Treat others the way you'd want to be treated. You must not:

• Harass, threaten, or repeatedly contact someone who has blocked you or asked you to stop;
• Send unsolicited sexual or sexually suggestive content;
• Pressure or coerce another user into unwanted interactions.

Reporting

• You can report a Thought (from its Thought Card) or a user (from a chat) at any time, choosing from: Harassment, Hate or abuse, Sexual content, Spam or scam, Self-harm concern, or Other.
• Reporting doesn't immediately remove the content — it stays visible while we review it.
• If no violation is found, the content remains visible.
• If a violation is confirmed, the Thought is removed from Thought Space and Previous Worlds, and the author will see a notice that it was removed for violating these Guidelines when they revisit that day. Conversations already started from that Thought are not deleted.
• We don't disclose your identity to the person you report.

Blocking

You can block another user at any time from a chat. Blocking ends any active conversation between you and prevents the blocked user from messaging you or starting a new conversation with you.

Enforcement

Depending on the severity and history of a violation, we may:

• Remove the violating content;
• Temporarily restrict certain features on the account;
• Temporarily or permanently suspend the account;
• Preserve relevant information and report to law enforcement or child-protection authorities where required or appropriate.

Where required by applicable law, we will provide a clear statement of reasons for enforcement action taken against your content or account.

Changes to These Guidelines

We may update these Guidelines from time to time to reflect changes to our Services, applicable law, or Google Play policies. We'll notify you of material changes through the app.
