Orvy Terms of Service
Effective Date: September 3, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms” or “Agreement”) form a legally binding agreement between you (“you,” “user,” or “your”) and MAGICMATCH PTE. LTD. (“Orvy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), governing your use of the Orvy app and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
Please read these Terms carefully, along with our Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, and Child Safety Standards, before using Orvy. Before signing in, you must accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. After you sign in with Google, you must confirm that you are at least 18 years old before you can create an Orvy account or use the Services. By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
These Terms may be updated from time to time. Material changes will take effect upon notice to you, such as an in-app notification or an updated “Effective Date” above.
1. Eligibility
To use Orvy, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old — after you sign in with Google, you'll be asked to enter your date of birth during account setup, and you cannot create an Orvy account or use the Services if you do not meet this requirement;
- Not be prohibited from using the Services under any applicable law or regulation;
- Have the legal capacity to enter into this Agreement;
- Comply with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
If we cannot reasonably confirm that you are at least 18, or have reasonable grounds to believe you do not meet this requirement, we may restrict, suspend, or close your account.
2. Your Account
- Orvy currently supports signing up and logging in using Google Sign-In only. We may introduce additional login methods in the future, in which case these Terms will be updated accordingly.
- Your account is for your personal use only — you may not authorize anyone else to use it or transfer it to another person.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You may not create or maintain more than one Orvy account, and you may not impersonate another person or entity.
3. How Orvy Works
Orvy centers on a daily, shared “Daily Question.” Here's how the core experience works:
- Each day, you may write and publish one “Thought” in response to that day's question. You have one publish attempt per day.
- Before publishing, every Thought is automatically reviewed by our content moderation systems. If a Thought is rejected, it is not published, does not count against your daily attempt, and you can revise and resubmit it.
- Once approved and published, a Thought becomes visible to other users in that day's “Thought Space” and unlocks that day's “World” for you.
- You can browse other users' published Thoughts and open a “Thought Card” to read one in full and start a conversation.
- “Previous Worlds” lets you revisit days you've previously answered; you cannot access a day's World unless you published an approved Thought that day.
4. Published Content
By posting a thought or a message, you grant Orvy a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, distribute, and display that content solely to operate, promote, and improve the Services. You retain ownership of your content, and you're responsible for ensuring you have the right to post it and that it complies with our Community Guidelines.
5. Chat and Messaging
You can start a conversation from someone's Thought Card. Messaging on Orvy is text-only and works as follows:
- You may send one message to start a conversation. You cannot send another message until the recipient replies.
- Once the recipient replies, the conversation is unlocked and both of you can continue messaging freely.
- Message delivery and history are provided by our messaging partner, NetEase.
6. Reporting and Blocking
- You can report a Thought or another user directly in the app, and you can block another user at any time.
- Reporting a thought or user does not automatically remove it. Our team reviews reports, and the content stays visible during that review.
- If a report is reviewed and no violation is confirmed, the content remains visible.
- If a violation is confirmed, the thought is removed from public view (it will no longer appear in Thought Space or Previous Worlds), though any conversations that were already started from it remain available to the people in that conversation.
- Blocking someone stops future contact between you — a blocked user cannot message you or start a new conversation with you, and any active conversation between you ends.
See our Community Guidelines for the categories of content and conduct that are prohibited on Orvy.
7. Suspension and Termination
We may restrict, suspend, or terminate your access to the Services if you violate these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or applicable law, or if we have reasonable grounds to believe you do not meet the eligibility requirements above. Where required by applicable law, we will provide a statement of reasons for such action.
You may delete your account at any time, in-app or through our web-based account deletion request process described in our Privacy Policy. Deleting your account removes or unlinks your personal identifying information; your past thoughts remain, anonymized, as described in our Privacy Policy. This Agreement remains in effect, as applicable, after your account is terminated.
8. Disclaimers
The services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, except as prohibited by applicable law. Orvy does not guarantee that the services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any content or conduct of other users will meet your expectations.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Orvy and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, use, or goodwill, arising from your use of the services or your interactions with other users, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing in this agreement excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Orvy and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your content, or your interactions with other users, except to the extent caused by our own breach of this Agreement or violation of law.
11. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Services shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer-protection rights that apply to you under applicable law.
12. General
- If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force.
- Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
- These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, and Child Safety Standards, are the entire agreement between you and Orvy regarding the Services.
